Ripon Random Ten

So, I havent updated in a while, and I apologize to any readers for that!! I have been super busy and have made it a priority to update the blog, but haven't gotten around to it. For today, I decided I am going to write a list of ten random and spontaneous things I like about Ripon! And here.. we.. go..

10. Amanda Prouty. Little did I know that working with such a fun girl could make working in the Admission Office such a wild and fun hour or two out of my day. (Yes, I was talked into writing this!)

9. The Pub. Man, that place brings back a lot of good memories. Playing pool, eating breakfast, lunch, dinner with the group all the time. The breakfast risers they have there are so good, and I have now made myself hungry!

8. Intramurals. I love reliving the glory days of high school sports (football, basketball), as well as making new glory days (volleyball, soccer)

7. Initimate Campus. It's really nice not to have to walk a mile to every class from your room, as well as dining options too.

6. Ripon Athletics. Love me some Red Hawk sports! Huge supporter of the football and basketball teams. As a baseball player myself, the support shown by fellow athletic teams is very cool.

5. Professors. It is very cool in my opinion that here at Ripon, you get to know your professors pretty closely, and you are not just a number to them.

4. The four seasons. Part of why I love Wisconsin is that we get to see all four seasons here at Ripon. Falls are gorgeous, winters are winter. Cold and snowy. Spring is extremely refreshing. And we see bits and peices of summer at the beginning and end of years. Oh.. and Wisconsin has the Super Bowl Champs in the Pack!

3. The Admission Office. I have made some great contacts over the last two years working here, and this experience has helped me out in all sorts of aspects of my college experience.

2. Senior year. Only a litte over two months left! I love Ripon, but graduation is just an exciting time in a persons life. I have no idea what my future holds for me, so it is exciting to see whats next!

1. Ripon College students music selection. Weird number 1, I know. But here at Ripon, I get a taste of everything. I love country, alternative rock, classic rock, and some newer pop stuff. But you meet so many people that listen to such diverse music that is almost refreshing.

Thats all for my Ripon Random Ten. Hope all is well!

Champs!

Well... The Pack are Champs! Ahh, the Super Bowl last Sunday capped off an extremely great weekend, which was filled with friends, family, baseball practice, and some Packer football!

This week however... kind of dull. A lot of my friends are getting sick, and the bug seems to be going around. I'm not sure if I will be getting it yet, but I sort of feel the symptoms coming on. No energy, sleepy all the time, and my body feels incredibly weak. Not good.

This time of the year is no fun in Wisconsin. Winter days are frigid cold, and cars are always dirty and covered in slush and frost. Sometimes I wonder about staying in Wisconsin during my post-college days. But we complain when its too hot, then complain again when its too cold.. so I guess I'll get by!

Not much else to say today, class is going alright, baseball the same.

PS - THE PACKERS ARE THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!

I love saying that. Ha. Take care and have a good weekend everyone!

Super Bowl Weekend!

Well, as a huuuuuuuuggggggggeeeeeeeee Packer fan, I can finally say that Super Bowl weekend is upon us. We have waited two long weeks for this game, and still have until Sunday afternoon! For the game, I am heading back home to watch the game with a bunch of friends. A buddy of mine has a 65'' HD TV which will be used to the fullest extent!

Baseball is underway here in Ripon, and the only other thing I could ask for is that the snow melts!! We just got a big snowstorm, as did most of the state of Wisconsin! But ball is going well, and our spring trip to Florida is right around the corner. I cannot wait for that.

Other than that, I am just beginning to settle into a routine for my last semester of college. Classes are moving along, and along with work, baseball, and homework, my free time is pretty limited. I always seem to find ways to stay organized and on top of my game though!

Did I mention I am excited for this weekends Super Bowl?

Here are my reasons why the Packers will win? (My sincere apolgies for those who do not care, or know little about football)
1. The try to establish a run game. And while they do not run over the Steelers defense, they are semi-productive at it.
2. The Packers work a lot of quick hitter pass routes to avoid the blitz schemes the Steelers use.
3. The Packers get pressure on Big Ben, and force at least two turnovers.
4. Aaron Rodgers does not play nervous, and overthrow receivers. Because of this, he is precise and accurate.
5. The Packers offense continues its playoff run with a semi-close victory in a great Super Bowl matchup.

Packers - 34 Steelers - 24

Thats all for now! GO PACK GO!
